The crowd that stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 was led by Evan Neumann.

He punched and bashed at least four police officers while wearing a red Maga hat and a gas mask.

He swore at officers, called them murderers, and shouted, “I’m willing to die, are you?” in a criminal complaint.

Before he could be arrested, he fled the country after being indicted on 14 counts related to the riot.

Having just been granted political asylum in Belarus, he appeared on camera. During an interview with Belta, the Belarussian state news agency, he said, “I am very grateful, and it is bittersweet, like eating cranberries.” He has denied the allegations against him. As well as Neumann, six other people whose whereabouts are unknown are on the bureau’s list of most-wanted riot suspects.

Jonathan Daniel Pollock, 24, and Olivia Michele Pollock, 32, as well as 27-year-old Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III, are among them. In June 2021, Mr Pollock was not home when authorities came knocking, and Ms Pollock and Mr Hutchinson were arrested before their trials. On January 6, 2021, Evan Neumann was near the front of the crowd that stormed the US Capitol.
