Inter Miami won 4-0 over Atlanta United with Messi scoring twice and providing an assist.

In the first 22 minutes, Argentina’s 36-year-old star scored two goals before assisting teammate Robert Taylor.

Messi celebrated his second goal by pointing at Inter Miami owner David Beckham.

On his debut last week, he scored a match-winning free kick in stoppage time.

According to Taylor, “He is capable of doing everything on the ball. He is able to keep the ball in tight spaces, and he makes the right decision 100 percent of the time.”

In most cases, he’ll find one of his teammates. He brings so much quality to the team, so much. I mean, he’s the best player in the world.”.

He’s a dream come true to play with – he scores two goals, he scored last game, and he gets another assist.”

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner only trained with his teammates last week after joining the Major League Soccer side after leaving Paris St-Germain.

In two years with the French champions, the World Cup winner scored 32 goals in 75 games and turned down lucrative offers from other countries.

After controlling a ball over the top from former Barcelona team-mate and fellow new arrival Sergio Busquets, Messi fired home a rebound from his own shot in the ninth minute.

In the 13th minute, he combined with Finland midfielder Taylor to slot home a low cross.

The 28-year-old added a third before halftime, before Messi completed the scoring in the second half.

The 20,000-seat DRV PNK Stadium was abuzz with standing ovations after Messi was substituted in the 78th minute.

The Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino said, “I really didn’t notice, but with the type of player he is, it’s understandable.”

Ideally, the public would have stayed and paid tribute to the entire team, but I understand their decision.”

As a result of the win, Inter Miami advances to the Leagues Cup knockout stages.
