A Pakistani security delegation will visit India ahead of this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup before giving clearance.

Upon the election of the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the government will send the security delegation to India.

An official source in the Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Ministry was quoted as saying that “the security delegation will go with representatives from the PCB to inspect the venues where Pakistan will play and the security and other arrangements made for them in the World Cup.”

In addition to Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, the delegation is likely to visit other cities.

A delegation from the government usually travels to India before any cricket tour, the official explained.

As part of the delegation, we will communicate with the officials there about the security arrangements and other arrangements for the players, officials, fans and media who are going for the tournament.

A copy of the report will be shared with the ICC and BCCI if there are any concerns raised by the delegation.”

On Tuesday, the PCB released its official stance on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which was announced by the game’s governing body.

In addition to the match venues, the PCB requires the Government of Pakistan’s permission for any tour to India.

The Event Authority [ICC] will be updated as soon as we hear back from the government. A few weeks ago when the ICC shared with us a draft schedule and asked for feedback, we shared the same position with them,” the spokesperson said.

For the ICC World Cup 2023, Pakistan has the following schedule:

A match against Qualifier 1 will take place in Hyderabad on October 6
