Alvarez to lock horns with Charlo in Las Vegas
On September 30, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez will face undisputed light middleweight champion Jermell Charlo in Las Vegas
Super middleweight champion announced the news on social media on Friday.
With the caption ‘Undisputed vs Undisputed’, Alvarez, who holds all four belts in his division, shared a photo of the pair on Twitter.
On May 6, he defeated British boxer John Ryder for his 59th victory in 63 professional bouts, making him widely considered the world’s best pound-for-pound fighter.
Charlo’s anticipated fight with Australian Tim Tszyu will not happen before a World Boxing Organisation deadline, and the 33-year-old could lose his belt because of it.
The last time Charlo fought was in May 2022, when he knocked out Brian Castano of Argentina in the 10th round.
