Costco reportedly sees pumpkin pies fly off shelves during holiday season as they prepare to buy food for their Thanksgiving and other holiday meals.

Pumpkin pie is the item the retailer sells.

Around 6 million pumpkin pies are sold at Costco between September and December, according to Susan Schwartz, author of “The Joy of Costco”

Reports indicate Costco has set the price of the large seasonal pie at $5.99 this year.

It was reported by Delish that pumpkin pies started appearing in Costco warehouses at the end of August. Over 590 Costco stores are located in the U.S., and 270 more are located in 13 other countries.

In the past, the company sold a significant amount of pumpkin pies on the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday before Thanksgiving. According to People, Costco shoppers bought roughly a third of the 6.3 million items it sold overall that year during those three days.

There will be a significant amount of travel between the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after, with AAA estimating that 55.4 million people will travel during this time.
