In advance of the big shopping day right after Thanksgiving, many companies have already released their deals and steals.
WalletHub found that 28% of American consumers expect to spend less this holiday season than they did last year, among other findings.
Additionally, Black Friday shopping shocker 35% of items will offer no savings, according to the study.
To figure out which consumer categories are best to shop during the holiday season, WalletHub, a personal finance company in Miami, compared pre-Black Friday prices with current Black Friday deals.
According to the report, the following eight categories were included: appliances, apparel & accessories, computers & phones, consumer electronics, consumer packaged goods, furniture, toys, and a general category.
As part of the WalletHub report, categories were calculated based on items in those categories that matched Amazon’s offers before Black Friday.
According to the report, computers & phones, consumer electronics, and furniture were the worst categories for sales this Black Friday.
Compared to before Black Friday, furniture will only receive an additional 11% discount on the day.
A 21% additional discount will be applied to consumer electronics, while a 22% additional discount will be applied to computers and phones.
Consumer packaged goods apparently will offer the best percentage off this season, at 35%.
WalletHub found that appliances will experience an additional 28% discount on Black Friday, while the apparel & accessories category will see an additional 32% off sticker prices.
