Who is ex-Kanye West publicist indicted alongside Trump?
Among 19 people indicted with former President Donald Trump for alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election result in Georgia is a celebrity stylist and former Kanye West publicist.
In a plot to force a Fulton County election worker to falsely admit ballot fraud, Trevian Kutti, a Trump supporter, is accused.
Under Georgia’s racketeering law, the Chicago-based publicist is charged.
A screenshot of the TMZ article about her indictment was posted online by Ms Kutti.
According to the charge sheet, she conspired to “unlawfully change the outcome of the election in Trump’s favor”.
According to the 98-page court document, Ms Kutti was recruited by Harrison Floyd, the leader of Black Voices for Trump and a co-defendant, to contact Ruby Freeman in Atlanta.
As Ms Kutti has previously stated, the indictment’s depiction of the meeting is inaccurate. She has been contacted for comment.
According to Ms Freeman’s neighbor, she claimed to be a “crisis manager” who came to help count votes.
Several months after the 2020 election, Mr Trump falsely accused Ms Freeman of being a “professional vote scammer” and a “political operative.” Many of the former president’s supporters falsely accused Ms Freeman and her daughter, Shaye Moss, of being involved in an illegal scheme to vote on 18,000 false ballots for Biden during the election.
The mother and daughter testified before a select committee of the US House of Representatives last year that they lived in fear as a result of the claims of voter fraud.
Ms Freeman met the publicist on 4 January 2021 at a Cobb County Police Department precinct, according to the indictment.
According to Ms Kutti, she asked Ms Freeman to confess to voter fraud and told her she was in danger during the meeting.
In addition, Ms Kutti allegedly threatened to bring people to Ms Freeman’s home in 48 hours if she did not confess.
After Ms Freeman’s accusations became public in 2021, Ms Kutti contacted an election worker who was not affiliated with Kanye West.
