As Israel’s armed forces continue their biggest operation in years in the occupied West Bank, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called on the country to protect Palestinian civilians.

Despite his support for Israel’s right to self-defence, Sunak urged the IDF to demonstrate restraint and all parties to avoid further escalation in both the West Bank and Gaza.

When defending Israel’s legitimate security interests, Sunak said the UK called for necessity and proportionality.

Israel has killed at least ten Palestinians in Jenin refugee camp and wounded at least 100 more in one of its biggest attacks in the occupied West Bank.

On Monday, Israeli forces are conducting an operation that marks a significant escalation after a raid in Jenin two weeks ago that killed seven Palestinians.

Seven people were wounded in a stabbing and car ramming attack in Tel Aviv on day two of Israel’s operation against Jenin.

Thousands of Palestinians have fled Tel Aviv following ten people were killed in a “counterterrorism” operation by Israeli forces on Monday. Hamas praised the “heroic” attack.
