Tyrese Haliburton injured as Indiana Pacers beat Boston Celtics.

In spite of losing point guard Tyrese Haliburton to injury, the Indiana Pacers beat the Boston Celtics 133-131.

In the second period, Haliburton was carried off by teammates after suffering a hamstring strain.

The Pacers, who trailed 68-59 at halftime, were led by Bernard Mathurin, who scored 26 points.

“We lost the best player on the team, so it was my responsibility to help the team win,” Mathurin said.

Averaging 24.2 points and 12.7 assists in 32 games before the Pacers met the Celtics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indiana, Haliburton joined the Pacers from the Sacramento Kings in 2022.

At 28-8, Boston remains the Eastern Conference’s top team, while Indiana improved to 21-15 to finish fifth.

After injuring his shoulder during practice on Saturday, Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will miss the rest of the season.

According to the Grizzlies, Morant will undergo surgery on the tear after missing the first 25 games of the season due to an NBA suspension for displaying a gun on social media.
