Radu Dragusin: Tottenham close to deal for Genoa defender.

A deal is close to being agreed between Tottenham and Genoa for the sale of Radu Dragusin, who will cost around 25 million euro (£21.5 million) plus add-ons.

As part of the deal, Tottenham defender Djed Spence, who has just returned to Spurs after an unsuccessful loan spell at Leeds United, could be taken on loan by Genoa for the remainder of the season.

As of this writing, Dragusin has started in all 22 matches that Genoa has played so far this season in Serie A.

In addition to Bayern Munich, the 21-year-old Romanian has also attracted the interest of other clubs.

A product of Juventus’ youth system, Dragusin spent time on loan with Genoa before making the move permanent last summer and joining the team on a permanent basis.

As a result of Cristian Romero and Mickey van de Ven’s recent injury troubles, Tottenham have been on the look out for a new centre-back to provide support for them.

In recent weeks, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has played both full-backs Ben Davies and Emerson Royal in central defence to cover injuries in the back line.

It is rumored that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Eric Dier, who has been out of favor with Postecoglou, who has said that he can afford to lose the defender.

A 29-year-old Tottenham midfielder who has been capped 49 times by his country, Dier has struggled to make an impression at Tottenham this season, and there are reports in Germany claiming he may be on his way to the Bundesliga champions.

In the meantime, Spence’s season-long loan at Leeds was cut short and he returned to the club after only seven appearances in the Championship during his loan period.
