Trump says he will be arrested on Thursday in election case

On Thursday, Trump plans to turn himself in to a Georgia court for charges of election interference.
Judge in Atlanta has set bail at $200,000 (£157,000) for the former president.
As long as Mr Trump does not threaten or intimidate witnesses, he can remain free pending trial.
There are 13 charges against Mr Trump, including racketeering and false statements.
According to the court filing posted on Monday, the defendant may not intimidate any person known to him or her to be a co-defendant or witness in this case.
Posts on social media or reposts of posts made by other individuals on social media are included in the order, but are not limited to them.
The letter was signed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Mr Trump’s lawyers.
“Can you believe it? I will be arrested by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, on Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia.” Trump posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.
“She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign for, this WITCH HUNT,” he said. This is in strict coordination with Joe Biden’s DOJ [Department of Justice].
Also, he suggested the bail conditions indicate the district attorney was concerned he might flee the country.
“Would I be able to take my ‘understated’ airplane with gold TRUMP affixed on it for all to see?” he wrote sarcastically.
Ms Willis has asked the judge to schedule arraignments – at which a defendant is formally charged and enters a guilty or not guilty plea – on 5 September.
The trial is also scheduled to begin in March, according to her proposal.
In Atlanta, Mr Trump’s lawyers were seen earlier in the day at the Fulton County courthouse.
Reports indicate they were there to meet investigators and negotiate the bail bond terms.
A “hard lockdown” will be imposed on the surrounding county jail area when Mr Trump surrenders, according to the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.
In anticipation of Mr Trump’s anticipated surrender this week, barricades have been erected outside the court.
On Monday, the sheriff’s office said the barricades would remain in place until Saturday. It is the 19 accused’s responsibility to turn themselves in by noon local time on Friday.
After losing the 2020 election to Democrat Joe Biden, Mr Trump and his co-defendants were charged last week with trying to subvert the Georgia electorate’s will through meddling in the state’s election results.
During the ballot count, the former president urged Georgia’s Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to “find 11,780 votes.”
In addition to being the first former or serving president to be indicted, he faces three other criminal charges.
