The couple, who were married for seven years, are divorcing.

According to a joint statement shared with Page Six, the couple has made the difficult decision to divorce.

During this new phase of our lives, we ask politely for respect of our privacy as two people who love and care for each other deeply.

During the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in 2014, Vergara, 51, and Manganiello, 46, met for the first time.

She attended the event with her then-fiance, Nick Loeb.

The “America’s Got Talent” judge recounted how he instantly fell in love with her on SiriusXM’s “The Jess Cagle Show” in 2020.

“As we’re walking around, Sofia Vergara comes swooping down in front of us and walks in front of us for about 100 yards,” Manganiello said. She was wearing a dress that looked great on her, and I just couldn’t take my eyes off of her.”

They were eventually introduced by her “Modern Family” co-star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Later, Vergara ended her engagement with Loeb.

Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara met in 2014 and married on Nov. 21, 2015.

After hearing about the broken engagement, the “True Blood” star moved in.

“I called Jesse Tyler Ferguson and asked, ‘Hey man, was she broken up with the guy?'” he recalled. I said, ‘Well, I don’t know what kind of emotional state she’s in, but I want to take her out.’ He said, ‘Yeah, I wouldn’t have pulled anything if that weren’t the case.'”

In addition to passing on his co-star’s number, Ferguson helped make the match possible.

After back-and-forth phone calls, Manganiello flew out to New Orleans to take Vergara on a date while she was filming a movie. The rest is history.

Manganiello wished Vergara a happy birthday on Instagram seven days ago.

As she slipped into a leopard-print swimsuit on her “last days of vacation” in Italy, he was nowhere to be seen.
