Salford Red Devils have tied down full-back Ryan Brierley on a three-year contract.

As Salford finished seventh in the Super League in 2023, the 31-year-old scored nine tries and recorded nine assists for the club. However, Salford missed out on making the play-offs due to injury.

As a result of his performance this year, Brierley was named both the supporters’ and coaches’ player of the year.

It was only a three-year contract that he signed last year, but he has been rewarded for his excellent performance this summer by signing another one.

In a statement on the club’s website, Salford head coach Paul Rowley said, “It is fantastic news that Ryan has extended his contract and committed to the club for the long-term future.”.

It is without question that he is one of the most valuable players on and off the field, not only to the team but also to the club as a whole. He had a great year last year, and he played a crucial role in most of our good performances.

Three years after joining the Red Devils from Leigh Centurions, Brierley’s fellow Scotland international Danny Addy has been released.

Salford’s Addy played 16 times last season, and 41 in total, without scoring a try.

In the week following his departure, Salford signed utility forward Matty Foster from St Helens.
