PTI chairman gets protective bail in Layyah corruption scandal

According to ARY News, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in Layyah land corruption case.

Former prime minister granted protective bail until June 26 by LHC judge.

Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman for third time in Layyah land scam on June 22, but he did not appear.

The ACE spokesperson said the PTI chief failed to appear in front of the body despite being summoned for the third time.

The PTI chief had earlier been summoned by ACE on June 19. He was summoned to appear on June 16 in the first summons.

A case study

As a result of the Layyah land corruption case, ACE has filed charges against Imran’s sister, Dr Uzma Khan, and her husband, Ahad Majeed.

Despite purchasing land in Layyah district worth billions of rupees for just Rs130 million, Dr Uzma is accused of fraud.
