On Tuesday, the ICC World Cup 2023 schedule was released by the game’s governing body, and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shared its official stance on the announcement.

Any tour to India, including the match venues, must be cleared by the Government of Pakistan, according to a spokesperson for the PCB.

Once we receive guidance from our government, we will update the Event Authority [ICC]. The spokesperson added that this position is consistent with what we had told the ICC a couple of weeks ago when they shared the draft schedule with us and asked for our feedback.

The ICC announced the schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023 earlier today.

The tournament will take place across 10 venues from October 5 to November 19, with the opener and final being held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Round-robin format will be used for the tournament, with each team playing 45 league matches against each other.

Top four teams will qualify for the semifinals on November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. Reserve days will be held for semi-finals and finals.

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 schedule has been released, which is always an important event before any global event,” said ICC Chief Executive Geoff Allardice.

“Hundreds of millions of fans around the world will be part of what we hope will be the greatest ever Men’s Cricket World Cup, and we know in India there will be an electric atmosphere surrounding the teams, culminating in the winners lifting the trophy in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium.”
