Pakistan and India to play Asia Cup clash at neutral venue
As part of the schedule for the 2023 Asia Cup, Pakistan will face India in Kandy during the group stage.
Political tensions have prevented the two sides from playing at neutral venues or World Cups since 2013.
The tournament runs from 30 August to 17 September and will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The schedule ensures India will play all their fixtures in Sri Lanka since Colombo won the final.
In the six-team 50-over competition, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal join the two host nations and India.
There are two groups of three teams, with Nepal joining India and Pakistan in Group A, which will meet on September 2.
After that, the top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Four stage to determine the final two.
Prior to the tournament moving to Colombo, the first Super Four game is scheduled in Lahore. However, India will not participate due to the seeding.
