Koi Mil Gaya will be released in 30 cities in India by PVR Inox and director Rakesh Roshan, in celebration of the film’s 20th anniversary.

Rakesh expressed his excitement over this plan and also revealed why his son’s film will be re-released in cinemas.

We were contacted by the team at PVR Inox to celebrate 20 years of Koi Mil Gaya. I was delighted to learn of their plans, and together we have decided to re-release the film on August 4th across 30 cities in India.”

In order to relive the nostalgia of the film, PVR Inox cinemas are rereleasing it. It is our hope that the re-release will serve as a family outing where parents will bring their children to the cinema and introduce the new generation to Jaadoo, while reminiscing about the film 20 years ago.”

Koi Mil Gaya was made to entertain children and their families at the same time, according to the director of Krrish.

I took a risk by introducing a sci-fi film with an alien, but the audience response was my biggest reward and reinforced my belief as a filmmaker to keep experimenting with different genres and story lines.”

Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Rekha, Johnny Lever, Prem Chopra, Rajat Bedi, and others starred in Koi Mil Gaya. An alien becomes friends with a mentally disabled boy named Rohit in the movie.
