In their opening World Cup game against Wales in Bordeaux, Fiji have named Teti Tala at fly-half, with flanker Levani Botia and wing Josua Tuisova among the replacements.

Caleb Muntz, Fiji’s fly-half, suffered a knee injury that ruled him out of the tournament.

A strong centre partnership will be formed for Sunday’s match between Semi Radradra and captain Waisea Nayacalevu.

The following countries are also in Pool C: Georgia, Australia, and Portugal.

The first World Cup appearances will be made by fourteen players, while the third appearances will be made by three players.

“Everyone has worked hard since we gathered to prepare for this game,” said head coach Simon Raiwalui.

Everyone is looking forward to playing on Sunday with this amazing group of players.

The whole squad has been trusted from the beginning, everyone has had the chance to prove themselves.

There’s strength and depth in our team, something we haven’t had in the past, and it’s been a tough selection, so we put together a very good team.”

Our bench is strong throughout, from the front row to the backline, so we are confident in the 15 starters and 23 finishers.”
