With his 174-run knock, Sean Williams powered Zimbabwe to their second-biggest ODI defeat in terms of runs in the 17th match of the Cricket World Cup (CWC) Qualifier.

Zimbabwe, who are in excellent form in the CWC Qualifier, scored an impressive 408/6 in 50 overs after USA captain Monank Patel put them into bat first.

Joylord Gumbie and Innocent Kaia gave Zimbabwe a steady start with a 56-run partnership that lasted until Jasdeep Singh removed Kaia, who could only score 32 off 41 balls.

With belligerent hitting, Gumbie and stand-in captain Sean Williams put on an explosive 160-run partnership, decimating USA bowlers and accelerating Zimbabwe’s score.

In just 65 deliveries, Sean Williams reached his century in a crucial stand with Gumbie.
