Vipers completed the women’s domestic cup double after also winning the Charlotte Edwards Cup final against East Midlands.

Vipers skipper Georgia Adams put Blaze into bat and they lost 6-2 after a rain-affected start.

The Blaze recovered to post 200-8 from 48 overs thanks to Tammy Beaumont’s 76 from 104 balls, Sophie Munro’s 33, and skipper Kirstie Gordon’s 21.

With Kathryn Bryce (2-48) reducing Vipers to 4-2, Josie Groves (3-39) removed Georgia Elwiss (50) and Georgia Adams (39) in quick succession to leave Vipers 109-5.

The Vipers reached their target with 46 balls to spare thanks to Emily Windsor’s unbeaten 57 from 53 balls and Freya Kemp’s unbroken 94-run sixth-wicket stand.

The victory also marked Charlotte Edwards’ third silverware this season after guiding Southern Brave to victory in The Hundred. While the Blaze were outplayed by the Vipers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup final in June and humiliated in the group game clash eight days ago, they were boosted by the return of England white-ball opener Beaumont.
