Shane Dowrich West Indies wicketkeeper returns to squad
Shane Dowrich West Indies wicketkeeper returns to squad for England’s ODI series.
The 32-year-old Dowrich has played 35 Tests for West Indies but has yet to play white-ball cricket for them.
It was Dowrich’s successful year as captain of Comb C&C in the Super50 Cup that earned him a call-up to the national team.
Three ODI matches will be played between 3-9 December between the West Indies and England.
Currently, Shai Hope is the captain of the team, while Alzarri Joseph is the vice-captain.
Five T20 matches will follow the ODI series between West Indies and England from 12-21 December.
Jason Holder and Nicholas Pooran are not included in the 15-man ODI squad as they are prioritizing the T20 leg over the ODI series.
After failing to qualify for the Cricket World Cup, the West Indies have upgraded their playing personnel by bringing in uncapped batting all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford and seam bowler Matthew Forde.
England’s tour of the West Indies is always filled with excitement and expectations, according to selector Desmond Haynes.
As much as we expect this to be a hard-fought series, we also believe this squad will perform well at home. We have a clear vision.
