England’s all-time leading wicket-taker James Anderson: “The semi-finalists will be England, India, Australia and South Africa. I like how South Africa turned it around in their series against Australia. It is evident that their batting is strong and they have options with the ball. New Zealand and Pakistan will both be close, but will not win.

In a tight final, I can see England beating India.”

England won

Former England bowler Jonathan Agnew: “England, India and New Zealand will reach the semi-finals.” Though not many are betting on New Zealand, they are always so stubborn and successful in these tournaments. Kane Williamson’s return gives them a boost. They get a good spirit together.

Despite that, I don’t think anyone is going to be able to stop India. If they reach the final in Ahmedabad, a stadium with a capacity of 120,000, it will be the biggest home advantage we’ve ever seen in sport.

India is the winner

Alex Hartley: “India, Pakistan, England, and South Africa will be the last four. Australia isn’t in there – South Africa are peaking at the right time.”

I see India and Pakistan meeting in the final – it’s what everyone wants to see. India will win.”

India is the winner

Aatif Nawaz, Test Match Special commentator, believes that this World Cup will be one of the most competitive ever. The format and the mish-mash of approaches to ODI cricket will make it difficult for any team to emerge dominant.
