According to reports, a local politician in the United Kingdom is taking legal action after his tweets expressing his religious beliefs were canceled by seven different organizations and he was suspended by his own political party.

First of all, I’m still upset,” King Lawal, 31, told Fox News Digital. “But I’m ready to fight back, too. I don’t want to be silenced anymore, and I want to see more Christians stand up and fight.”

On June 29, Lawal, who has been a councillor at North Northamptonshire Unitary Council in England for two years, tweeted in response to GB News host Calvin Robinson’s tweet that naked men were illegally parading in front of minors during LGBT Pride events.

On Twitter, Lawal, a Christian who finds parade behavior offensive and immoral, condemned it.

He wrote, “When did Pride become a thing to celebrate?”. It was because of pride that Satan fell as an angel. Pride is not a virtue, but a sin. Those with pride should repent of their sins and turn to Jesus Christ. He can save you. #PrideMonth #Pride23 #PrideParade.”

According to the tweet, Isaiah 3:9 reads, “For the look on their faces bears witness against them; they declare their sin like Sodom; they do not hide it. Woe to them! For they have brought it upon themselves.”

As a result of the tweet, Lawal’s life has been “torn apart,” according to a press release from the London-based Christian Legal Centre (CLC), which is assisting him in his legal fight.

In an interview with Fox News Digital, Lawal explained that he has been suspended by his local Conservative Party after issuing the tweet and that a party investigation is underway against him.

The North Northamptonshire Conservative Group did not respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, but told GB News they “are an inclusive group.”

A statement from the group states, “We remain committed to reducing inequality within our communities and creating a fair and inclusive environment for everyone. We fully support our LGBTQ+ community, as we support all communities.”
