Chicken wings are on Popeyes menu for good Popeyes wants to recapture some of the magic from its chicken sandwich debut.

In addition to Honey BBQ wings, Roasted Garlic Parmesan wings, and Signature Hot wings, Popeyes will also offer Ghost Pepper and Sweet N’Spicy wings that proved popular earlier this year when they were sold at Popeyes locations across the country.

As a result of Popeyes’ chicken sandwich, which sparked a wave of copycats, in 2019, the fast food industry was enthralled.

With wings, Popeyes hopes to rekindle that enthusiasm to a certain extent. The chicken sandwich game aside, it’s a good time for wings, with cheap eats gaining ground as customers tighten their belts.

Over the past several years, Popeyes has added wings to the menu on a temporary basis. In spite of customer interest, Sami Siddiqui, president of Popeyes North America, said that the items would remain on the menu for some time to come.

In January, when we were serving our Ghost Pepper wings, we saw incredible demand. There was supposed to be a six-week period for the offer. During the summer, Popeyes introduced another version of the wings, this time with a sweet and spicy sauce. According to Siddiqui, that one did better than the previous one. Compared to the chicken sandwich, it was actually the most successful product we’ve seen.”

Upon its debut in 2019, the chicken sandwich prompted throngs of hungry people to mob Popeyes locations, which sold out in just about two weeks. A permanent return of the sandwich resulted in a tremendous increase in Popeyes’ sales overall.
Other chains have seen success with chicken wings in recent months, as people cut back on spending by buying cheaper food.
