Chenab River in high flood at Head Marala

Irrigation authorities reported on Monday that the Chenab River at Head Marala has surged after India released water in the Ravi River.

Irrigation authorities have forecast high-level flooding for Ravi River due to the Chenab River flowing with 200,000 cubic seconds at Head Marala.

Narowal, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Faisalabad, Okara, and Sahiwal are likely to be affected by the high-level flood in Ravi.

On Sunday, India released 1,85,000 cubic meters of water into the Ravi River.

PDMA issued high flood alerts following the release.

A PDMA alert said that 1,85,000 cubic meters of water were released into the Ravi River from the Ujh Barrage by Indian river authorities.

A total of 1,73,000 cubic feet of water was released into the river by the Indian authorities last year, according to PDMA.
